    Tsukiyo Sakiko Nomura

    €27,95

A photo book by Japanese photographer Sakiko Nomura.

After approaching photographer Araki Nobuyoshi, who was famous for not taking on apprentices, and directly approaching him in 1991, Nomura became his apprentice. Since then, she has spent nearly a quarter of a century studying under him, photographing kabuki actors and film stills, and even working on her own projects on her days off, leading a life centered around photography.

This book is part of the "Petite de Publication" series by Japanese publisher Libro Arte.

The book features a mix of color and black-and-white images, including flowers laid at graves and the same models Nomura has photographed since childhood as she watched them grow up.
The book depicts the complexity and appeal of human beings through the clash and balance between rationality based on social ethics and animal instinct.
