Pickup currently unavailable
This is a collection of photographs by Momoka Omote, a Japanese photographer from Gifu Prefecture who is active in a wide range of activities both in Japan and abroad.
The artist, who began taking photographs after volunteering overseas and working as an assistant before going independent, has produced works that are connected to reality by confronting head-on the climate and atmosphere of the places she has visited, as well as life and death.
This work is a promotional book for the [Kita Alps Traverse Route], a mountain climbing route from Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture, to Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture, crossing the Okuhotaka Mountains in the Northern Alps, recorded with the cooperation of the Chubu-Sangaku National Park Headquarters of the Ministry of the Environment.
Also serving as a guidebook for the Kita Alps Traverse Route, this book is a guidebook, but it is designed to be a “non-guidebook,” with the only clue being that the photographs were recorded along the route. The only clue is the information that the photographs were taken along this route.
Without specific locations or maps, this book tickles the inquisitive mind that wants to actually see for themselves.
