SOHEI NISHINO:TOKYO Sohei Nishino
Pickup currently unavailable
A photo book by Japanese photographer Sohei Nishino.
Nishino spends several months walking around cities around the world, taking countless snapshots on black and white film. He then develops the film, creates life-size contact sheets, and cuts out each frame from these to create collages titled "Diorama Maps."
This book features Nishino's "Diorama Map," set in Tokyo, divided into 146 sections to fit the size of a double-page spread.
The overwhelming sense of scale of the work as a whole can be understood through detailed observation, as it is brought about by the accumulation of tiny fragments of contact sheets.
