The First Resonance Masako Kakizaki
Pickup currently unavailable
Under the title "Aononymous"—a coined term combining "Aomori" with "anonymous," a word signifying a lack of individuality or names—photographer Masako Kakizaki has long captured her home prefecture of Aomori. However, triggered by the travel restrictions of the pandemic, she shifted her gaze toward the immediate landscapes surrounding her own daily life.
Through a sense of curiosity and the modest joys found in her surroundings, she captured nature with a 6x6 medium-format camera. The presence of the plants that construct these landscapes quietly speaks of a world that exists entirely independent of human intervention.
"I want to feel the irregular rustling emitted by those who possess no words. What is certain may well be what occurs within the darkness— much like the day a seed, waiting patiently for the rain deep inside the soil, quietly begins its creation." — Masako Kakizaki
