Träumerei is a portfolio composed of diptychs—vertical pairings of two distinct images—alongside still-life photographs of flowers taken in Nomura’s birthplace of Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture. The title, well-known from Robert Schumann's piano piece, is a German word meaning "dreaming" or "reverie."
These six selected works blend memories of travel with a sense of intimacy, characterized by a lingering atmosphere reminiscent of a daydream. While each piece is titled after a specific city, these names do not necessarily indicate where both photographs were taken; instead, they are titles Nomura assigned to the specific pairings she curated for this portfolio.
