A photobook Moriyama published through Getsuyosha in 2013, gathering 311 snapshots taken in Paris into a thick, palm-sized volume, a modified A6 format running to 504 pages. Designed by Satoshi Machiguchi, its small pages, turned within the hand, carry Moriyama's characteristic coarse-grained monochrome in dense succession. Though the city of Paris is the subject, it is not landmarks or tourist views but a rapid accumulation of miscellaneous visual fragments, of the street, shadows, signs and passers-by, in which the speed of a body walking the city and the appetite of its gaze take direct form. Moriyama keeps renewing this city, which he had photographed repeatedly since his early work Paris, as a 'plus.' The very physical presence of the book, at once thick and small, embodies his method of the accumulated snapshot.
