*This book is secondhand.
This photobook was published on the occasion of the "Jomon People Exhibition" held at the National Museum of Nature and Science in 2012. Photographer Yoshihiko Ueda photographed two Jomon human skeletal specimens (one male and one female) for this large-format book. It includes explanations of the anthropological characteristics discernible from each photograph and the "way of life" of the Jomon people.
Ueda's perspective on the human remains offers us a new view of the world. The project was conceived by graphic designer Taku Satoh.
