A new edition of George Hashiguchi's signature work, for which he visited and interviewed many fathers and their families around the theme of fatherhood (Sangyo Henshu Center, 2007; modified A4, 244 pp). One of a series reissuing his three books 17, Father and Couple, Hashiguchi's documentary method — looking squarely at diverse forms of family — crystallizes around the universal subject of being a father. Portraits full of the quiet respect of a photographer long devoted to ordinary people.
