Custom Chair Album Masafumi Sanai

Based on "Chair Album" released by photographer Masafumi Sanai in 2003, this is a collection of works where each copy is unique, with bleach processing applied to the fabric of the cover and a hand-drawn signature and edition number written in marker by Sanai himself on the colophon. It was released in 2009 as the second work of Sanai's own publishing label "Taisho."

In the pages of this book, monochrome photographs taken during travels to various places such as Atami, Enoshima, and Niigata are arranged small and matter-of-factly in a layout with large margins.

Sanai's gaze, which picks up fragments of landscapes, people's presence, and casual events, brings to light the definite richness hidden in modest daily life.
