An Album: The Everlasting Story Shoji Ueda
Pickup currently unavailable
Shoji Ueda is one of Japan's most celebrated photographers. This photobook, Album: Eternal Story, was created using negatives discovered by his family after his passing.
The images included were captured between 1935 and 1950, with a central focus on his wife, whom he married when she was 19 years old. Through this monochrome series that quietly gazes at his most beloved presence, a captivating and unwavering story of love is beautifully spun.
Recording a private and warm gaze that can be seen as the very origin of his signature style, "Ueda-cho" (Ueda's style)—where subjects are arranged like objects—this volume stands as an extremely vital piece within his lifelong body of work.
