a little bit Kyohei Hattori
Pickup currently unavailable
This book brings together photographs taken daily by Japanese photographer Kyohei Hattori, without any set theme.
Published to coincide with an exhibition at Shaba in Kagurazaka, Tokyo, held from October to November 2025, this is his first photobook since going independent and establishing his own studio in 2025.
Hattori uses the same camera as his respected photographer, Masafumi Sanai, the PENTAX 67II, and this book, with its vast array of images with no borders or cut-off edges, somehow feels like he's emulating him. However, more than anything, it exudes Hattori's straightforward, repeated process of finding a subject, determining the angle of view through the viewfinder, and pressing the shutter, as well as his pure love for photography.
The titles of books from his collection that appear occasionally on the bookshelf hint at the expressions and contexts that Hattori has absorbed over the years, while the furniture and posters that make up the interior also hint at the roots of his unique sensibility.
The end of the book includes a contribution by author Obara Ban and an afterword by Hattori himself.
The book design was done by multi-creator Okamoto Takuto.
Both Obara and Okamoto are people Hattori greatly respects.
