TOKYO STYLE Kyoichi Tsuzuki
Pickup currently unavailable
A visual document by freelance editor Kyoichi Tsuzuki, whose work spans a wide range of genres including subculture, urban culture, outsider art, and ethnographic documentation.
This book captures the raw living spaces of people residing in cheap rental properties in Tokyo around the time of the bubble economy’s collapse in the early 1990s. Since its original publication in 1993, the work has garnered a cult following both in Japan and internationally; this edition is the bunko (pocket-sized) version of that acclaimed collection.
Featuring photographs of cramped apartments, cluttered studios, and rooms overflowing with belongings—spaces never seen in interior magazines—accompanied by minimal text, it captures the lives of young people surviving in 1990s Tokyo as they chased their dreams.
