Forward: Box Edition Jun Imajo

"forward" is the highly anticipated photobook by photographer Jun Imajo, a masterpiece that took approximately seven years from the start of shooting to its completion.

For this project, Imajo traveled across France, capturing various carousels on film. Ranging from traditional amusement park attractions to solitary structures appearing along the coast or in the middle of town, each carousel reveals its own distinct character in shape, color, and motif.

The volume is the fruition of an extensive process: five years of shooting, one year of printing and sequencing, and eight months of book production. As Imajo reflects, "This is the first time I have dedicated such a long period to a single theme. Throughout the journey, I kept reminding myself to simply move forward."

Far from a mere catalog of a single subject, this book beautifully captures the daily lives of the people enjoying these carousels and the nostalgic, ambient atmosphere that envelops them.
As a special tribute to the shooting location, the three limited edition versions of the photobook feature a beautiful tricolor finish inspired by the French flag.
