This photo book is born from "FEEL KIYOMIZUDERA," a project of Kyoto's Kiyomizudera Temple.
Around 1200 years have passed since Kiyomizudera Temple's initial founding on Otowayama Mountain. Although seemingly unchanging at first glance, the religious buildings breathe and continue to morph. There is no scene that is one and the same, whether it be the mountains that change their aspects in the mornings and evenings, or the daily lives of monks who spend their time embracing thoughts toward the Bodhisattva Kannon. This photographic record containing scenery that changes every moment depicts the current Kiyomizudera Temple, and is brimming with suggestions in regard to thinking about what the temple should be like in the future.
The photographs in this book are by Sudo Kazuya, a representative of the creative production company "discovery go" based in Nagoya, who records Japan's culture and workings as photographs and images in the Aichi and Kyoto areas, with a theme on meetings and discoveries.
