This book presents the winter forests of Tohoku Region of Japan in northeastern Japan as if they were landscapes of a mystical world.
The photographs were taken in the depths of winter, with all the necessary conditions - temperature differences, wind direction and strength, humidity - perfectly aligned for frost to cover the trees and turn the entire landscape of the surrounding mountains white. The almost abstract beauty of his photographs is heightened by the unique texture of the pages, printed on a pearlescent paper that visually and texturally resembles ice crystals.
