A photo book by Japanese photographer Junichi Ohno.
Junichi Ohno was self-taught in photography when a photograph he took of a rose caught the eye of Japanese musician Ryuichi Sakamoto. This led to his debut as a professional photographer in 1990, when the photograph was used on stage during Sakamoto's "BEAUTY" concert tour, which took place all over the world.
This book is a catalogue signed by the artist and published in conjunction with his solo exhibition held in Tokyo in 1990.
It features eight works taken between 1988 and 1990, including the cover, as well as the rose that was his debut work and was discovered by Sakamoto, as well as a critique by photography critic Shuhei Takahashi.
You can sense Ohno's keen eye for flowers, a subject that has captivated so many photographers, including Imogen Cunningham, Irving Penn, and Robert Mapplethorpe, at just 22 years old.
