A photo book by Japanese photographer Yutaka Takanashi.
After graduating from the Department of Photography at Nihon University College of Art, Takanashi met photographer Kiyoji Otsuji and enrolled in the night school of Kuwasawa Design School. After graduation, he worked actively as a photographer for advertisements, but at the same time, he continued to photograph cities as his theme.
In 1968, he joined PROVOKE, a photography fanzine founded by critic Koji Taki, as a member, along with photographers Takuma Nakahira and Daido Moriyama.
This book is a collection of photographs that Takanashi captured from the window of city buses and conventional trains, capturing the lives of people living in cities.
The tilted compositions of the photographs included are reminiscent of the gaze of American photographers Lee Friedlander and Garry Winogrand.
