Lula Japan dedicates each issue to a single color, expressing the meaning it carries from various perspectives. The theme color for this issue is the ancient Japanese hue, "ruri-iro" (lapis lazuli blue).
The cover features a striking work by Dutch artist Viviane Sassen. Etched into her vivid imagery are themes of memory, exploration, and the perception of life and death. The ruri-iro alive in her work unfolds a story of agonizing beauty and profound healing.
Inside, the magazine features a fashion story by London-based Mark Shearwood, who captures wavering moments against the backdrop of daily light and the atmosphere of the city. Also included are a quietly drifting fashion story by Tokyo-based Shota KONO, and an exploration by emerging photographer Callum Su that captures the multifaceted nature of the classical trench coat, enveloped in the urban light and shadow.
Furthermore, the issue contains a wardrobe story where silence and fluctuation resonate, and episodes related to "ruri-iro" contributed by four creators.
Through beautiful visuals, you can enjoy captivating content spanning fashion, beauty, art, and culture.
