Lula Japan dedicates each issue to a single theme color, exploring its multifaceted meanings through a compelling visual lens. For the latest issue, the focus is on "苗色 nae-iro" (seedling green), a traditional Japanese hue that evokes the spirit of young, sprouting rice plants.
The narrative of "nae-iro" unfolds through a series of evocative stories, starting with a grand fashion series by London-based photographer Morgan Hill-Murphy, which captures the majestic pulse of nature. This is followed by the landscapes of Vasantha Yogananthan, a self-taught photographer rooted in the mountains of southeastern France, whose work exists in the delicate space between myth and reality. The journey continues with the works of painter Yang Bo, where accumulated culture and identity dissolve into one another, creating a resonant boundary of light.
Furthermore, this issue explores contemporary freedom and features personal episodes from four distinct creators, each centered around the essence of "nae-iro." Through its exquisite aesthetic, the magazine offers an immersive experience that seamlessly blends fashion, beauty, art, and culture.
