Pink Rose Suite Mika Ninagawa
Pickup currently unavailable
An early photo book by Japanese photographer and film director Mika Ninagawa.
Born to Yukio Ninagawa, a Japanese film director, stage director, and actor, and Tomoko Mayama, an actress and quilt artist, Mika Ninagawa grew up watching her father and mother, who united life and expression, and developed her own unique sensibility and strong-willed way of life.
This book is a 2008 revised edition of the book of the same name originally published in 2001.
It contains dreamlike photographs taken in cities across 40 countries around the world.
The distinctive vivid colors were achieved by combining a now-discontinued film made by Agfa, the German company that developed the world's first color photographic film, with a malfunctioning automatic color developing machine.
Another notable feature of this book is its cover, which uses lenticular printing, a special printing technique that causes the image to change depending on the angle from which it is viewed.
