Yokohama Gorakuso Miyako Ishiuchi
Pickup currently unavailable
Gorakuso, a former housing complex in Yokohama, was built in 1932 by a Tokyo merchant for his daughter, but after the WWⅡ it became the first building in Akasen district (a slang term for an area of Japan where prostitution was practiced half-authorized) for American soldiers. This collection of works, another "apartment," is a counterpart to his early masterpiece "APARTMENT" (1978), and reveals a history of the building.
